GPS speedometer

Speedhut makes a GPS speedo that is really neat. It is independent of gear ratios, tires etc. They have a GT-40 package of gauges on sale @ 10% off.

I have all speedhut gauges and they are outstanding. I was wondering if anyone who has the new GPS unit can tell me how long it takes to gather satellite data before it starts working?

Has anyone tried them in the mountains and canyons? That's where I normally drive a little faster...:D

I put their speedometer in last fall. It takes less than a minute (maybe 30 seconds) to find the satellite. I pull out of the garage to warm up so it's never a problem. It's flat here, so I can't help with the mountain question.

Yep, around 30 seconds is the norm for GPS acquisition. Works extremely well. Sure solved a lot of problems for me on the T70.
