GTD headlight wiring - opinons?

Gentlemen,

I've noticed the headlight wiring on my car is showing signs of heat damage. On closer inspection the standard GTD wiring looks a little on the thin side. Also the earthing seems marginal & perhaps this is the reason?

I'm considering re-wiring the dip/main beam with some relays and larger cables.

Have any other GTD owners experienced a similar problem?

Does anyone have any opinions or advice?

Kind Regards

Julian

I would certainly re-wire and use relays.. I don't think I would have wired the full load to go through the switches in the first place. 10 amps is about all I trust switches alone with..

Poor grounding or hot connections will increase the amperage draw through the conductors as well..

Might want to check and see what is up with the fuse / circuit breaker as well..

I sure my GTD has relays in that part of the loom. 22 years on and still using original wiring loom although had the connectors changed to modern style ones.
