GTD stub axle - info required asap

A friend with an early GTD has got trouble with a stripped thread on the Nearside stub axle. In trying to buy a replacement from the local Ford parts dept, it appears the item is no longer in production.

The stub axle in question is from a Mk 2 Granada. Is there an alternative stub axle that fits in this instance? Is a Granada scorpio the same?

Any suggestons greatly appreciated!

Rear axle. He was torqueing the stub axle nut after replacing wheel earings & the thread stripped.
