Audi 016 axle adapters

For those contemplating the use of the 016,
Chassisworks sells the adapters for Dana/Spicer shafts at $ 170 pair. They also sell the Spicer part, which can be bought direct through your local machine shop, but $ 750 looks like a good deal including the adapters.

Re: Audi 016 axle adapters

I made my own using the Audi CV joints. I disassembled the Audi ends and used only the bolt on flange. I welded a 'tube' yoke to that flange and installed a u-joint. Next was the tube yoke, then 3" driveshaft tubing, then slip yoke stub, slip yoke, u-joint and then a bolt on flange which I welded directly to the GM 4X4 bearing stub. It is not pretty but it cheap and VERY strong. Cost was $200.00 CDN for both.
