Pilot Bearings / Porsche 930 to Ford

You fellows that have Porsche G50s/930s running in your cars, or ready to run, what did you use for pilot bearings? Source? The one I have handy is for a 016 and rough measurement shows that bearing is larger than what would be needed for the 930 applications.

Thanks much,
Ron

Surely its just a matter of going into your local bearing supply merchant with the ID, OD and width required?

The ID 15mm is the important one, you will probably have to run the bearing in an adaptor similar to the one Chris showed in the end of the crank and this can be sized to suit the OD of an available bearing. Bearing width is generally irrelevant so long as its not hard up against the splined section of the input shaft. Get a fully sealed (not shielded) bearing.

Haven't quite got that far with mine yet so can't help with specifics.

Cheers

Ron -

KEP has them, I got 2 and they ship it quickly, got it withing a few days since they are local. I checked if they were stocked and they were. This one was pretty painless.
