difference in dash1 and dash2 ZF

what are the differences, and is a Dash1 ok for a 40? thanks; chuck

I think a ZF-1 has 4 hole mounting for the gearbox to the bellhousing and a ZF-2 has 6. The photos show this.

Also the -2 was 'beefed up' to take a little more punishment. I dont know if any external measurments are different. Also the ZF-1 is rare and spares will be harder to come by.

Anybody else?

Cool Re: difference in dash1 and dash2 ZF

I believe the dash 1 has very close ratios with a lower 5th gear, the case has some external stiffeners between the bellhousing and trans(on a Pantera). the input shaft is too long. A Mangusta used a dash 1 that was oriented the same as a 40 but used a deeper bellhousing.
