Clutch alignment tool

Can anyone suggest where we might find a clutch alignment tool for an Audi 016 tranny, using the Kennedy supplied clutch and flywheel? Kennedy suggesting using an Audi tool, but was not more specific.

Found one source for an Audi 01E, but not sure it would be the same.

Is there some 'generic' or equivalent that we should look for?

Our local car parts store can't get one.

Re: Clutch alignment tool

I just used a deep socket that was a close fit and then added some masking tape to make the fit even tighter. The splines cut into the tape and make it work pretty well.

Re: Clutch alignment tool

Thanks for the tips. I have ordered a clutch tool and hope to have the tranny in place by Christmas.

Re: Clutch alignment tool

I would think the tool Kennedy was refering to was the plastic tool that comes in the clutch kit. The clutch kit should have been for a late 80s turbo 5000 with the 240mm clutch disc. Or try one of the universal alignment tools. Good luck with the installation.
