I am a bit confused. I am in the middle of my build, thinking now about the ZF/RBT transmission.
I am planning to use a -2 and the bellhousing has 6 bolts/holes (picture below) to be attached to the transmission. Does the RBT has a 6 bolt pattern?
I have been searching for some original ZF -2 but the one I have found is a 7 bolt unit. Why is this? Were there 2 different versions of the ZF -2?
Does it mean, Chris, that this bellhousing fits a 7 bolt transmission?
It does not look so when you look at both of them... The pattern on each of them does not seem to fit when you put them together
it looks like it should fit, if you are running the trans inverted for the GT 40. You will also need the smaller 117 tooth flywheel with this bellhousing and either a double or triple plate clutch for 440hp plus.
Take a look at the ZFQ / ZF bellhousing thread, the centre bottom hole is redundant for monocoque's and it takes the standard Ford flywheel and clutch.
