Audi Transaxle Diagram

Anyone have a dimensional drawing of the bellhousing pattern on an Audi transaxle?

I'm hoping to build an adaptor plate to sit between an Audi V8 and a RWD gearbox and hoped taht someone on here might have the drawing seen as they're commonly used in the GT40 community!

Cheers

Kevin

First you've got decide what Audi transmission you're talking about. There are at least 2 bolting patterns that I know of and each one of these appears to be applied to a range of transmissions

I would have thought though the type to get would be the 2WD Audi trans made to go with the Audi V8 in the first place?

I have the same question that KevinG, but for an 04' Audi A4 transxle. also the mounting points dimensions

With few exceptions all longitudnal Audi transmissions from 1992 to ~2004 share the same bolt pattern, fitting I4,I5,V6,V5, and V8 engines.

Engines above 400hp and later cam chain engines have different bolt patterns to accept a larger torque converter for the auto cars but they still share about 30% of the bolt positions.

Hi Scott, I have a RS4 engine and David (fastdruid) suggested I chat to you about a gearbox. My idea originally was to lock the OA3 rear on the box and run the rear wheels with the side shafts. David helped me right and informed me that it wasn't a good idea. I have the OA3 box but as I understand from Dave I should be looking for an 01E. The thing is how do I know that the gear ratios will be ok for my RS4?

I might be wrong but I think the ratios look like this:

Gearbox ratios (DQS/ELQ/FRF all the same)
Final 31:8 = 3.875
1st: 28:8 = 3.5
2nd: 34:18 = 1.889
3rd: 32:26 = 1.231
4th: 27:31 = 0.871
5th: 26:39 = 0.667
6th: 23:41 = 0.561
Rev: 38:11 = 3.455

I know that Scott sells a conversion for 1st and 2nd gear so they are so darn low.

I bought a 01E, off a 1998 A6, 2.8l V6 Still waiting for the box not sure what other code is on it. Will have to wait and see.

Thanks for the info Darren.
