Clutch: Pull- or push-type?

Pull- or push-type?
For street and occasional track application, which is the better clutch? Look at Porsche - they use pull-type for production cars and push-type for racing. Why's that? Does push-type have a heavier and longer pedal and if so, would a concentric clutch slave help to overcome that heaviness problem? And would altering the pedal ratio and/or size of clutch slave/master cylinder help?

Second question:
Clutch release differences between 930 and G50 -
Even though both of these gearboxes were designed to use a pull-type clutch, Porsche changed the release fork design for the G50. Any idea why? I know the G50 used an hydraulic slave but I don't think that was enough to change the whole thing, was it? Can an hydraulic slave cylinder (not concentric) be retrofitted to the 930 still working as a puller?
