Audi A6 Chevy V8 adapter

Hi. I have an opportunity to purchase a 1999 Audi A6 Quattro 2.8L as a donor car for a future 'mid-engine' hotrod project. I don't know enough about these cars but was wondering if I could get some advice whether to pursue the purchase or not and if any adapters are available to link the auto transaxle to a smallblock chev V8 (300 HP). Is this too much engine for the transaxle?

What car are you putting it in?
It will not work in a mid-engined car
