Half shafts

Started to put the rear of my project together and run into a problem , my half shafts are to long by 130mm each side, i'm running 930 CV's in and out so what are people useing, or are the getting half shafts made to order, if so from where.

cheers John

I've got CV's on the inside and Corvette U-joints on the outside - not a good combination I'm advised! Maybe causing some vibration for me!

Hopefully have solved my problem, i found some ready made 28 spline race quality axles at Dans Performance parts state side, he specialises in off road buggys etc and has them on the shelf in various lengths, and lucky for me the shortest he stocks at 15-5/8" is spot on for my needs, fingers crossed
cheers John

The setup you have might well introduce vibration at certain speeds, especially elevated RPM on the shafts.
I have seen your type setup on a few cars and they have had similar problems.
Not knowing what setup you have at the wheel, it is hard to suggest a fix, but if it is possible to swap out to CV's at the wheels I would think that would be a great improvement.
Post some photos of your setup as the pictures can usually reveal a lot.
Here is a link to a good supplier of custom half shafts.

I've got the same dune racer shafts as well. With the 3" long splines, you can easily lop off what you need (if a little too long), re-groove for the clip, and be in good shape. I had to use 22.25" shafts for my project.

Thanks Phil,

I'll try to post some pictures. I will need an CV adapter to connect to Corvette torque arms!
