A buddy of mine mentioned a, for me, unknown transaxle the Mendeola.

A search here did not net any results about experience with that transaxle. There are two of them offered - for me I would be in feedback interested about the 2nd one, the SDR5

Search for Mendeola and Factory Five GTM. There was a batch production, so you should find some information.

Thanks Markus, seems to me it's worth the money. I will keep that in mind for my next build.

Mendeola is highly respected in the offroad market, race buggies, trucks, sand cars. Very strong transaxles and endless gearing options. If planning for a GT40 there will be issues due to it's large size, can probably be overcome but that's where I would want to start questions. Last I looked they were too long and I suspect a bundle of snakes may not get over the top due to it's height. Would be a great option if it fits.

Pete what about the 01E option? tough gearbox's , 6 speed and a real nice shift feel.
