Audi 016 gearbox

Hi all I'm trying to get a better idea about my gearbox, ie year and car it might have come out of I have the serial numbers attached>
Any help appreciated

You also need to look at the top of the box for the numbers.

So if I read correctly it's out of an Audi 5000 1978 onwards as my code is 016 301 200.
I'll double check the top of the box tonight.

As Veek said, the numbers on top of the bell housing are key.
They will give you year of manufacture and gear ratios.
