#1032 @ le mans

Hi
Vintage photos show #1032 copper/bronze having a silver upper band around the front and side glass. Was it simple a way to block the sun glare or more complicated?
Thanks

The bands at the top of the windshield are typically sun screens since very few racecars have sun visors. You can imagine what it’s like to drive one of these cars into the sun at speed.

I do not know what they used Larry.
As it recently came out and was known as 200 MPH Tape - We used Duct Tape back in the early-mid 70’s.
I imagine it got the 200 MPH moniker from either Stock Car or Road Racing. So.... ;)

I always thought it was 200 mile tape. Because any repair done with the tape would last you about 200 miles down the road before it all fell apart.
