Title for New York Vintage car?

Hi, My CAV GT40 was registered in Arizona as a '66 Ford Coupe. When I bought it quite a few years ago, I registered it in New York, also as a '66 Ford. In New York, Titles are not issued to cars older than '73. Instead, we get a "transferrable" certificate of registration, which is the document used to transfer ownership and re-registering the car.
Now there is serious interest in buying my car by a German gent and is saying that they must have a title to allow importation into Germany. I've sent jpegs of the registration and he says they still want a title.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Ray

Thanks Jimbo, but I don't have a house in Vt. or Pa.
You do mean I should register the car there, right?

Ray

Be careful with the NY Certificate of Registration in trying to transfer to another state that requires titles. South Carolina would not accept any but a title . The seller in NY had a dealers license and was able to back through the NY DMV who then contacted the SC DMV to get it registered in SC. It was possible, but not without help. Check your state DMV requirements. Tony
