Car registration

I've recently just had my car pass its IVA as notified elsewhere on here..

Can anyone advise which category I register the car in as I want to have
an annual MOT and use a private number plate on her?

Ricky,
I would suggest following this link: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/kitbuilt-vehicles

Be aware that you will need to be able to prove that the kit is new and that you have not used any old parts. You are allowed one reconditioned part (normally the engine) and have to demonstrate that it has been rebuilt to an as new standard.

If any of this is in doubt then DVLA will assign a Q plate and then you will not be able to use a private plate on it.

Hi Ricky
Classification is Private Light Goods (PLG) and if you looking to add a private plate, it will have to be registered as new vehicle and the private plate can added at the same time. The good news is that there is no MOT’s for the first 3 years

To get my ’40 registered after the IVA test I had to submit the following to DVLA.
  • Proof of Name (copy of passport)
  • Proof of address (copy of Council tax bill)
  • V55/4 – Application for first tax disc
  • Insurance certificate (against VIN number)
  • IVA Certificate
  • Confirmation of VIN correctly stamped (letter from local garage, as cannot be done at same time as IVA!)
  • V267 – Declaration of a new vehicle
  • V627/1 – Build up Vehicle inspection Report
  • Build Evidence Photos
  • Build receipts
  • V778 – Number plate retention document (private plate I already owned)
  • Cheque for road tax & first registration fee

Andy

Hi Guys

We've had our car successfully go thru our IVA here.
However, our DVLA need a 'manufacturers certificate of newness'.....

as it's an RCR, is this something fran can issue?
