Windscreen for a DAX

Today an RAC windscreen fitter came to fit my screen

He broke it in the process

Anyone got a spare?

Or a GTD one?

I believe the Tornado will not fit - wrong curvature

GTD SCREEN will also not fit - you have a problem, Ian !

I think The GTD screen should fit, The Dax although 1.5" taller was extended at the bottom edge of the door just above the sill line. The screen and roof area is essentially the same as KVA/GTD.

I think you will find that GTD screen should fit as Chris says. Last one i saw had GTD screen fitted.

How anyone can break a windscreen in fitting amazes me. They are a doddle to do. I hope they are refunding you.

I agree but he said

Glass gets more brittle with age (so what does that say for the 300 year old stained glass bits in churches?)

the screen has been sitting in the spider for years (taped in place)

He checked the fit
Glued up the surfaces
installed the bottom of the screen with a Tornado Rubber
Said something like this is a bit tight and pushed the top drivers side to "fit" it whereupon the top corner cracked - about 3 inches from each side of the corner but will surely be a SVA fail point.

The screen was removed and surround cleaned up.

I swore an awful lot when I heard!

There is some doubt on their liability but I would agree I think they are liable -if they are experts and then break the parts surely they should have known the required clearances.

Our screen should fit. It fits all others including GTD and KVA
