GT40 wanted in Denmark

Hi guys,

I´m on the look out for a GT40 road car.

Since I am very new to the world of the GT40 I will start with a properly not so simple question.

Will it be possible to get a good car for lets say around 80.000 dollars?

I know the price range is very different.

And another question is - In Denmark we have the worlds highest taxes when it comes to cars 180% when purchase. If the car is over 35 years of age you can register it as a veteran and then the tax is taken from the price when the car was first sold back in the days. I got my E type series 1 like that and since the E was kind of cheap back in the days the tax was only small pennies compared to if you wanted to buy a new Jaguar.

Therefore is it possible to find a GT40 replica from lets say the 80ies - or will that be a dead end.

Hope that the above makes sense.

Some cars are registered (on paper) in the 70s or 80s.
Like my GTD, which is registered 1972 ;-)
But, not for sale (sorry)

Some states will title/register a GT40 as the year it replicates i.e. typically 1966 and some authorities will not look too hard at that, but it's all a lot of "if's" and "maybes" and too late when your car is sat at the port with customs agents pouring all over it.

Transport Canada has got wise to that and any import has to be first year of registration.
