Scrutineering issue.....

Hill Climb and Sprint competitors take note.

It has been reported back to me that battery boxes as the sole means of battery fixment to the car may not now be acceptable depending on whether or not the actual battery is clamped to the chassis as well. Just having the battery sitting in the battery box is potentially insufficient. It nows needs fixing down as it was reported that in an incident at another event a battery broke free from a box. Not a good thing.

Red Top batterries do not need boxes so if you use one of these you should be ok so long as it is properly fixed in.

Whether this was a one off scrutineer being pedantic remains to be seen however please bear it in mind when prepping for the forthcoming events at Goodwood and elsewhere. NB This doesn't apply to our club track day participants.

Thanks to Dave and Paul for this info.
