P4replica, we can speak in PM if you want.
| Olivier.
I did try to PM you. In fact, I know I did, but nothing showed in my message outbox afterwards.
I didn't receive any error message. The same happened when I sent a PM to Fran Hall, before.
Does this forum require a 'newbie' to reach a specific post count (say 10?) before he can PM other members ?

Holy smokes!!!!! That thread is 51 pages long and I thought the "F1 is boring me to death" was long.
| Actually it's 63 pages long if you go to 'Last', Ron ....! Quote: |
Anyone care to boil it down for the layman, i.e., non-Ferrari nut? I emailed that fellow who posted too.
| Not me, Ron ....
I've had my say on this one, and don't intend to waste any more of my time on it.
I suggest, if you've got any sense, you'll keep the discussion out of your forum, too ...

63!!!! I must have missed something since I don't really know what it is all about. I'll read some of the thread.

Rep Power: 54 | Re: GTD40 Ferrari P4 replica ?? No, not the "P4 in Red" thread here, but the P4 thread on the FerrariChat website. I never knew the threads existed, but apparently there have been many threads debating the history / originality / authenticity of car 0846. I am afraid I don't know enough about F cars to form an opinion, but apparently the debate got so heated over there members were banned, ejected, etc. from the forum. The current thread is seriously long, twisted, and would require hours to get through.
Heck, probably like a lot of folks here, I'd rather have a replica I can beat the daylights out of and race instead of something that needs TLC, heated rooms, and a lot of insurance. |

Speaking of replicas contraversy surrounds the P4 shown on this forum in the historical section. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69585

Check in the RCR forum, real P4 replicas there. |

I didn't know they built a P4 replica on a GTD chassis basis. €70 000 for this car is not a serious price .... | I checked up on this hybrid GTD40 P4 replica, recently, and it is still for sale (not surprisingly, given the previous asking price). http://www.novaweb.fr/detail.php?id=129310
Unfortunately, I haven't yet managed to by-pass the very protective 'ZeGarage' salesman, Claude Moritz, to talk direct with the car's owner. In his most recent email to me, Claude wrote:

This yellow has anyway a correct shape (at least from photos).
Paul, do u think the bodyshell was scratchbuild or can be an already existing one? (u know I love spyders..)

See quote from Claude's email in the previous post:
" Une carrosserie a ensuite été commandé chez Noble pour l'adatper sur le châssis GTD modifié."
.... "A set of bodywork was ordered from Noble" - the tail section was then presumably reworked by A.C.S. to produce the 'pukka' spyder 'basket handle' tail.

See: FERRARI P4 DAYTONA
"A P4 Daytona (sic) Replica with glass fibre bodyshell, a very high priced construction. This car, being sold without engine, could be equipped with either a Lancia V8 8-32 or a 4 cylinder Cosworth but we do know of a V12 Ferrari engine available through one of our collector friends."

This gtd seems to have an even more correct body than Nobles (roof section..the same one for Fran's kit).
the only thing I really dislike are the gt40 wheels on a p4
As u wellknow I can neither think at this wonderful gtd p4 cause I am in Italy.
