I also can't make the 28th as away on business, surely there should be at least a months notice before the meeting |

Rep Power: 7 | Re: Club Agm In regard to the AGM, I do not believe that posting the answer on the forum would comply with club rules, as not every member will have access, Also less than two weeks notice is also not normal, despite the country being subject to a postal strike. As I did not receive a copy of the club rules when I joined, I cannot verify Malcolm's statement but it seems to me that the AGM is going to be held with only a handful of members present. There is nothing on the official club website concerning the AGM either.
Come on committee, lets have some fair play and give members a chance to come to the meeting and discuss the future of the club as this year is a year I am sure the committee will want to forget. |

Rep Power: 2 | Re: Club Agm Martin, are you sure you're a member of this club in the first place? If you're not, that might be the reason you have not had any notification re the AGM in the post. Regarding your Bains-trophy, Paul has actually dragged it around to several race meetings hoping you might show up, including Longleat, where we all thought you were entered.
Tim, I dont understand your concern? Why is this club so important to you when it comes to the AGM? You are never out there competing with us, which is what this club is all about. In the Enthusiasts Club you can do your carshows, cream tea runs and cocoon yourself in polish. Each to their own..... Hopefully the GTD40 club will continue to cater for those of us who are interested in competing on a club level with our cars.

This attitude is part of the problem why the GTD club finds itself in the position it is. I believe having two clubs gave a benefit to all members of both clubs but if you say that the GTD club was only for racing members then why do you have so many overseas members who clearly do not compete in the UK .If you read your rules, you should look at the objectives section and you will see that competition is only one part of the clubs objectives.
The whole point that I joined the GTD club was to get a great magazine which gave reviews and technical help and also to one day participate in racing.
I have today received my notice of the AGM and I am clearly not happy at the proposed new rules proposed which will reduce most of the members to associate members with no voting rights in the club. There are certain aspects of the proposals which I shall be discussing the RACMSA.
The last issue of the magazine I received was Autumn 2006 and therefore I still await the Winter 2006 Magazine which was part of the subscription I paid. After I receive this I will decide whether to remain a member of the club. |

Can I respectfully suggest that we take this discussion offline. We all share the same passion for the GT40 and there are many members who are in both clubs (including me), so we shouldn't get into a us and them type of debate on the forum.
Thanks, Martin

Rep Power: 4 | Re: Club Agm I am a Club Member. Unfortunately due to family problems and selling my forty I was unable to attend Brighton or Longleat which I would dearly have liked too. My details were passed on for the trophy to be forwarded by post but I still await its delivery. With regards to the AGM, I like other members have no idea when and where it will be held (no idea where Andrew Fordyce lives), and what the agenda will be. I support the club which is why I joined in the first place, but even with Paul Thompsons best efforts it seems to be struggling. |

The address has not been posted on this site because it is a private residential address and this forum is available to all and sundry on the world wide web. Anyone wanting the address can get this off of any member of the Club Committee or it is included in the notice that was sent out to all club members.
I know Paul is at Donington today - I am sure that he will respond to this thread later today when he gets back.
