SPF GT MKII Engine Deck Brace

This “How To” is a solution in search of a problem in the eyes of many. The engine deck of the SPF Mark II GT40 is an aluminum plate. After the engine install, which requires a cutout be made for the induction system, the aluminum has a tendency to vibrate where the cutout is made. Is this really a serious issue? Probably not. However, being an aircraft guy, seeing aluminum panels flopping around bothers me, so I made some very simple brackets to lock the plate down. These are trivial to make as all you need are a couple of strips of aluminum about ¾ inch wide and about 12 inches long. I don't supply exact dimensions here because I've noticed some variation from car to car. The photos below pretty much explain it all. I used all stainless steel #10 hardware and Nylock nuts. I also powder coated the brackets to dress them up a bit.
