Hi

Hi

My name is Don, I'm from South Africa, I own a replica GT40.(Gulf colors). Ive read many threads on your forum with interest and decided it was time to join in.
I purchased my car at the begining of the year. (There are photo's of it in one of the threads, which was a topic about the rear wheel position in relation to the body. etc.)
The car is currently at "Peter Baily Cars" at the moment getting some upgrades and engine work etc, Im hoping to take her out onto the track from early next year.

Cheers Don

Hi Don,

Welcome to the community!

Which replica did you go for and why did you choose it?

Rick

Re: Hi

Hello Rick ,

Well the car was alredy complete and on the road, it was for sale at the local classic sports car shop. I had not idea of the different types at the time, I just drove past it that many times in the space of a few weeks I decided to take a look. This car is not a CAV or a Peter Baily version but built by John Botha of GT40 Developments in South Africa. I think its best I put up a photo of it perhaps someone could attempt to identify the version. Where do I post a picture?

Hi Don

I'm located in Pta and will receive CAV106 from Auto Futura in the new year.
Lets meet up and roll some tarmac.

Re: Hi

Hi Don

If you use the search feature there are some threads
advising how to post pictures...it's not hard once
you get the first one done.

I believe GT40 Developments was a GTD based replica.
The boys from the UK could probably confirm that.
Regards

MikeD
