1059 new owner checking in

hi all
i just became a new member of this terrific name is kriton and im from athens the owner of the ford gt40 1059.i bought the car from rm auction last year.its a street version with very low mileage.currently im doing a mini restoration of the car in bergamo italy at the shop of an italian thinking what colour to paint the car.the original was maroon but very ealry in her life like a few months after leaving the factory was rpainted in opal white with blue stripes.i would appreciate to hear anyones opinion as to what colour to use

Congratulation, thats a wonderful car.

As far as color goes, years ago I had a maroon Alfa GTV and it was just beautiful.

I remember sweeing photos of Bill Wonders car, GT103 (I think) It was maroon and very nice looking.

Just my thoughts, I think any color would look good on that beauty!

Its a MkIII, I wonder if its the same maroon, I bet Ronnie knows.
Ah, but I was so much older then....

I found a letter from Ronnie Spain and a classified ad for 1059 in my dad's estate papers. Send me a message through this forum with an email if you would like me to send you photos of these.

Have fun with 1059- I know my dad sure did!

My two cents worth - leave it in its current colour, it looked very classy in the recent magazine article here in the UK.
