Hi all,
My name is Theron from Cape Town, South Africa. I purchased a replica GT40 about 3 years back. The car was built for a man who allegedly could not fit in the cockpit so he decided to sell. I eventually learned that the car had been constructed very poorly so I stripped her to redo.
I have since sold the 302 motor & dumped the Citroen transaxle. I had a mate of mine import the 5.4 Intech modular Ford motor. I have just managed to secure an 01E transaxle. I have also brought in two T4 garrets with .63 exh. I had the software done by Western Motorsports in Canada. Its the EM-5 SDS. They supplied the loom as well.
I'm a keen drag racer here in Cape Town. I want to build this car to compete in some of the more serious 1/2 mile (800m) standing start top-speed events.
I intend getting the car ready for the end of this year. The engine will need to be torn down & assembled with forged rods & pistons. I don't intend going for silly HP numbers just a usable 800-900 hp.
Any information & ideas will be sincerely appreciated!
Theron.
