Introducing myself

Hello to all,

First a big "thank you" to the moderators to make this forum alive!!

I'm a happy owner of a GTD 40 for quite some time.
It's a quite standard GTD40 with the usual components and even with a Rover V8.
Nevertheless a nicely tuned example with quad dellorto's on top..
The car has aged well and has a nice patina which I want to keep. It is an oldtimer anyway.

After buying the car I did quite some changes + restoration way back in the nineties to make the car usable on the road.
New cooling system, oilcooler, new interior, some engine work, electrical work has been done and extensive cosmetic changes.
But after that I basically kept it running and enjoyed it.

But now after other project, car/none car, I decided to upgrade the car step by step. I want to keep it a running restoration.
A new paint job has been done already some years ago.

So here are my steps:
1- Upgrading the brakes -> still Granada/scorpio
2- New tires -> now old BFg's
3- New suspension
4- New Engine
5- ...

So I hope to get some help here and also give some of my experience to others.....

Herewith some pics of the car:

Very nice car, love the color combo... Welcome ! I also have an early GTD, under endless process of slow upgrading/restoration, interrupted by (short) periods for enjoying it ! (Presently in the body shop for a full respray after being hit on a track...)

A little pic under the rear clip ? Just curious about the Dellorto setup...

Hi Curt,
Welcome to the forum. I have had a GTD for a few years now and have collected quite a lot of pics and info. Drop me a PM about the info you want and I should be able to help. The tyres are pretty straightforward if you have 15" wheels - Avon cr6zz but the rest will depend on what you have in terms of gearbox, clutch etc. , what you want to spend and what you want it to do. A few more pics and info about your current spec will help a lot. Start a build thread about your upgrade and you should get lots of ideas and advice from the guys on here.
Cheers
Mike

Pierre, thanks, colours are Wimbledon white and Shelby Brittany blue. It seems you are in the same stage as me.

@Mike, ok I will certainly need some help here, thanks.

@Ron, thanks for this nice forum..
