Alright, Lola Wheels, what is the deal?

So I'm reading on another thread that has a huge amount of thread drift and find this picture of Lola wheels and the comment Lola Wheels in the Making. What is the deal?

That looks like a really wide BRM to fit some really wide vintage tires that will add a lot of unsprung weight and won't stick as good as my little narrow race tires. :) Wonder if you can seal off the bottom and use them as beer barrels.....They do look nice!

I doubt very much that a 'REAL LOLA WHEEL' would have been constructed and welded up like that!

Puts a whole new meaning into the term 'alloy three piece wheel'!

I was just thinking about building a Mk4 as a personal car but I think I will continue building my Mk3b instead....phew..that was close....:D
