Rep Power: 2 | team elite T70 and vintage footage Found some interesting old footage on youtube....! YouTube - Croft Spins YouTube - Bonnier Lola crash
Both classics - and they also contain footage of my 'other' favourite car!
Does anyone know of any cars (ie T70s) currently painted in the team elite colours (white with green stripes)?

Rep Power: 2 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage The only T70 I know of that is white with green stripe is Frank Syntners ex-Sid Taylor Racing Mk3b. Team elite's car was dark Blue, as Richard Meins SL76/144 is painted now. Don't think they ever ran a Mk3, only 3b. All Mk3's in both those vids. The Pale Green with Dark Green striped car in the Bonnier Crash Vis is the Team Bahamas car driven by Mike De Udy. Nothing currently painted in that scheme as far as I know. Hope this helps.

Rep Power: 15 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage Richard Meins does not have SL76/144. He has a car constructed in the 1990's, and I understand that he knows this and I realize and appreciate that he is not the one posting that he has SL76/144.
There are two cars with SL76/144 roots. I own one of them and Kenne Bristol owns the other one. Mine has the chassis plate and is known as "SL76/144" re-chassied. It has nothing to do with Richards car. Kenne Bristol has the car built from the BOSS Capri which is the car that Richard legitimately thought he owned. Kenne's car is known as "T76/144". Both Kenne's car and Richard's were owned by the same person in the mid 1990s and perhaps that is where the confusion lies. The FIA is aware of the situation. Lola has been through it with all those involved. It is very common with Lola T70s to have been crashed or otherwise needed a new chassis and to have subsequent cars with the same chassis number.
In my opinion SL76/144 was crashed in 1970 and no longer exists as the car that left the Lola factory in 1969, but the pieces that do remain exist as I have described and none of them are on Richard Meins' T70, even though it is a very nice car and I am sure I would enjoy sharing a track with him in the future. By the way, I don't care what chassis number someone writes down on a race entry in order to gain a spot on a grid. I want to see them race !

Rep Power: 2 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage Yep I know all that, But as Chris is based in the UK and prob more familiar with the racing scene over here than in the States I didn't want to overburden him with information that was irrelevant to the cars colour schemes. That was all. No slur on who owns what.

Rep Power: 2 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage Wait a minute... I AM SPARTICUS and I OWN SL76/144 - only kidding Johan! Same problem exists in the Lotus 26R and 47 world....!
And that is why I got confused about the team elite scheme - because when they ran the elite and 47, they looked like this......
and this....
Thanks for putting me straight Darren - still might do mine in white with a white stripe!
Cheers
Chris

Rep Power: 15 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage Team Elite was Trevor Taylor's race team. Sid Taylor had Sidney Taylor racing with the livery you are thinking of. They collaborated occassionally. I am at the age where I am unsure of things I say until I go back and re-read books that I have since forgotten.... |

Rep Power: 15 | Re: team elite T70 and vintage footage No, Team Elite racing was Trevor Taylor and he drove SL76/144 in 1969.
Barrie Smith drove SL76/144 in 1970 for Sid Taylor Racing. |
