Rear Spoiler for T70 spyder

Hi, Can any one give advise on adding a rear spoiler to a t70 spyder.

Will it aid rear down force? allowing the car to corner faster?.

Some racing t70s in 1966 era look to have elongated & adjustable rear spoilers.

Any one having any info please reply, I would be interested in your comments & even where to get one from.

Reson for the interest is I will be racing my car next year.

thanks.

Hi Samantha, there are plenty of women fabricators so you would not be the first. Just make a rear slat out of aluminum or plexi even. They are held on with bolts through slotted holes. Janet Guthrie made her whole car so I am sure you can make a spoiler if you try.

Samantha,

It's SUPER simple- after getting jealous of how some others' cars looked I bucked up and did one myself.

A couple of thoughts:
Be very accurate with your markings for the holes, specifically transferring them between the car and the metal sheet. Obviously you want them to line up.

If you're careful with it you can cut the shape out with a sabre saw or Sawsall using the appropriate blade (available at any home/hardware store).

I used a Dremel tool to elongate the slots after drilling the ends with the appropriate sized bit and then filed them to get them straight and square to the eye.

A CNC'd product would be "perfect" but this one is going to work out just fine for me.

Best of luck with yours!
