Is "Bert Skidmore" really the drivers name, or a nom de plume like Jackie Stewart racing under "A. N. Other".

In any case, I hope he has the oversteer tuned out of his chassis...:laugh:

Yep, thats his name --known of him for quite a while and never thought of it that way --now that you've mentioned it ( the connotation) thats funny:laugh:

I was intersted to see the 956 lapping at 1.39 who was the driver and can he pedal ?

I had a long chat with the guy looking after the 956's and they were wobbling around way over their potential which he thinks is mid 20's with a decent driver - not to say the guys today weren't, just not worth wearing them out for a non championship event. One car (with a 'tired' engine running low boost) runs period repro tyres, the other on current LeMans 18s but they ran around together for a start...fantastic machines to see up close.

The Veskanda still looks and sounds as good as it did when I was a pimple faced teenager watching JB embarrass most others in the field.

I would recommend this event to anyone interested in these machines, it is a great way to get up and close to them (Including some GT40s) and chat to the friendly drivers (Including Mr Trevor Booth !!) and crew in a pretty relaxed atmosphere.
Great Melbourne weather as usual too....
