I hope someday to build a GT40 replica, however funds don't allow it at present. So, the more affordable alternative was this 1973 Datsun 240-Z. However, this car will not be your typical 240-Z. Rather, I plan to build it completely from scratch to be an open road race car that is street legal here in the US.
To that end, I'm developing a custom spaceframe chassis to acommodate the custom suspension. The front is a double A-arm, based on the C5 Corvette. Out back will be a solid axle with a Satchell-link suspension design.
Wrapped around the frame is a modified Z body. It features a lowered roofline, a raked windshield, and a widened body to allow for the wider track-width (roughly 10'' wider than stock).
