Ford GT Production Specs Posted....

Please see:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/specs.asp

One interesting thing that I find about the production specs posted is that they go into detail in certain areas and leave others quite vague For example they mention that the GT has Triple Gear Synchronization for the first 4 gears and double for the last two. The specs mention the weight distribution percentage front/rear as 43/57, but forget to mention total weight . I think she is going to be a bit of a porker. Maybe we will have to wait for a magazine test of the production version to settle our contest.

Ricardo gear ratios look quite good.

Gary,
The Est weight is 1450kg, or so the magazines are saying who have driven the prototypes.

Yes I have seen the 3200 lb "estimate." The rumor that I have heard from insiders is that it is currently at ~3600 lbs. We will see. All of the magazine articles that I have seen have provided estimates of the final design not measurements of the prototypes.

Re: Ford GT Production Specs Posted....

The more I think about this the more I wonder if Ford is inflating the weight specs and letting rumors loose as part of a disinformation campaign. Nah, probably not.

I think we should all just hold until the FULL production car is on some independent scales. I would not trust Ford's weights, us Mustang people have known for MANY years their curb weights are vastly different than what you see on the calibrated track scales.
