Here is an update I got from Ford today:
'Thank you for your note requesting an update on progress with the Ford GT. Please be aware that we are still finalising the allocation of cars, but will commence sending out notes to let you know whether you have been successful or not in the next week or so.

Hate to spoil the party, but a US GT will not pass homologation/SVA here in Europe, there are few teaks having to be made... apparently.

brett - is it not akin to bringing a Euro car into the US? just a matter of money for tweaks - and not a ton, at that (relatively speaking).
or is the UK particularly wildly-restrictive about this sort of thing? which would be a shame.

Ah, but you see, they are not selling cars here, they are hiring evangelists. People who will be good ambassadors for the Ford brand. It's not about how much money they can make selling a GT, but how much money the GT can make selling Ford... | |

Clarkson may have had to bulls**t to get his, but no more than I did on my application form. I'd have to sell my house to raise that sort of money so there was never any hope of seeing one on my drive even if I had been offered one. | |
