Ford GT and track use

Hi everybody, I am looking into the new GT with a lot of interest, and am curious of a few things concerning the GT and track use. Any ideas on the strength of the roof structure? I was hoping there might be some kind of factory roll bar option on the spec sheet but didn't see anything like that. Also, since the car comes with 19" rear tires, is there anything that would preclude someone from mounting an 18" rear? I don't know of anyone that makes a 19" r-compound tire. I have heard of people with challenge stradales being stuck with street tires for the track since an 18" won't clear the larger rotors. Neat forum.

Thanks,
David

Re: Ford GT and track use

To be completely honest if you are looking for a GT to use on the track then you'd be better of investing in a replica. I'm sure many would say the same. You then have an almost infinite choice with regard to power, braking, suspension etc.

I don't know if the suspension is adjustable on the new GT, so if you do opt for smaller 18inch wheels will you be able to change the camber & ride height to suit?

Regards,

J.P
