..Ford suggest NOT ordering the stripes. Dealers were told this week that they can improve the allocation chance and delivery time by NOT ordering the painted racing stripes. Ford cannot provide them at the take rate (95%) that they are being ordered at. Ford had predicted and set up for a take rate of 70% so they are "encouraging" dealers to delete the stripes from their orders. Hey, for $5000.00 I will paint 'em on for you....

Makes sense, Rick. I think a white Ford GT would be like a blank canvas just begging for a big red stripe with black trim a la Essex Wire livery. And you could actually save money if Ford charges $5,000 for stripes.
