Re: 720 BHP ford GT's

Donor parts for an RCR SL-C. Oh that would be even more dangerous.

Ok, I'll just take the transaxle for my next GT40 project. You guys can have the rest.

Seriously, this is starting to verge on crazy considering the torque that thing must produce. But hey, I know plenty of people who think you can never have enough HP.

I would certainly be up for a test drive.

Old hat from those guys. There have been 750+ rear wheel horsepower GTs running around for years. Check on The Ford GT Forum - Powered by vBulletin and MM&FF magazine.

Re: 720 BHP ford GT's

720hp really isn't that crazy in the GT... even with the stock tires 1st gear traction is manageable 2nd gear the car just wiggles around a bit and by 3rd it's hooked up as long as your pointed straight. The power is SO smooth and the chassis predictable. I think with slicks you could comfortably run 900+ hp. Remember it is around 1,000lb heaver than a GT-40!

Re: 720 BHP ford GT's

We will shortly see how a GT40 (RF) with approx 1,000hp will handle the turbo power. At the moment the motor is pushing 587hp with only 5psi boost and 16 degrees total timing. Once she is run in (about 1000km's) we'll push the boost to approx 22psi and as much timming as we can. The motor is a 4.6L Mustang Cobra with all forged internals.
