New guy from The Netherlands

Hello,

I come from The Netherlands, I'm 22 years old at the moment, study Computer Sience on Bachelor level.
Why I'm here is obvious, I like GT40, and that's a bit of an understatement
Since I remember myself seeing the car in a model store(10 yrs old) I wanted one, but then I discovered what kind of car it was and that an original is way too expensive.
A few years ago I heard of the replica world, and when the time comes that I finish my study I want to buy a replica.

Only thing is, how can I get a car like a GT40 on a licence as the Dutch are being quite difficult in that.
Are there Dutch people on here, I saw one a few months back from Den Haag....

Greetings!
Willem

Hi Willem,

Welcome on the GT40-forum.
The only way to get a replica on the road in Holland is going the English-road.
Buy an English replica and registred the car thought the RDW and pay a lot of luxery taxes (48,5%) of the value of the car.
If you need specifix advice, mail me.

Regards,

Lucas

Re: New guy from The Netherlands

Thanks for the replies guys, at least I know now it is possible to get it on a licence. I hope I'll buy my replica within a few years....
I will check your topic frank.

Another question came up, is it possible to get the car licenced as a 1965 car instead of the date you get it on a plate?
