Great Photos Chis !
Was there ever a street version of a Mark II built? I don't
recall ever seeing one if there was.

Hi Hershal

No, I don't believe that Ford ever did make a street version, however with an estimated top speed of 240 mph it certainly would have given the cops something to chase if they had.

Chris
Great photos! Thanks for posting them. Are you making a full MKII with a 427?
Hershal
The only official street versions I know of are a few MKI and the MKIII's. I don't know of a street legal MKII. Does anyone? Mine is the only street legal MK-IV so far as I know.
Best

Re: 1966 historical photo\'s

Several MK IIs have been "street driven" however there were no "street" cars built or even customer versions for that matter. The Mk IIs as the MK IVs were sold off after the end of the 1967 season when Ford pulled out of international racing. As I recall, Harry Hienl in Miami Lakes, Fl. ended up owning a bunch of them over a period of time. My old Road & Tracks have lots of ads from him for "street trimmed, air conditioned" GT Mk IIs and IVs. And the outrageous prices! Why you would have to pay almost $20,000 for an old used up racecar oo:! Almost as much as Jim paid for J6.....

Re: 1966 historical photo\'s

Hello, I'm new here and please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ford put out a GT40 Mark II Roadster? I don't have any pic's to back this up with, but I thought that's what I've heard.

And also I found this pic, of the running times for the GT's at LeMans, written down by the pit crew.
