Help identifying Car

I’m new to the forum & was hoping someone here would be able to help me out.
I’ve got a bunch of gt40 pictures, on my computer, which I’ve collected thru the years that I don’t know any information about.
I was hoping someone could identify the car, driver & race depicted in this photo.

I did a quick search on the info you supplied & you both seem to be dead on!

I’ve been collecting the pictures for my garage project & didn’t want to hang any pictures up without knowing the who/what/where/when. I’ve recently built a new 2 car garage & want to give it a classic racing motif, mostly Shelby Cobras, GT40’s & even some mustangs. I’m always open to new ideas, so if anyone has some pictures of their garage their willing to share, let’s see ‘um.

If I come across any more photos that I’m unsure of, I know where to turn now.
