There is a short article in this month's Motorpsort magazine which says Ford GT40 chassis 1085 took to a race circuit for the first time ever at Donington Park in April. Owner Jonathan Turner bought the 1969 chassis, which had been stored in America and never used, and had it built up by Racing Fabrications.
The article says it was the last GT40 chassis to be numbered and was shipped to the US for Gil Jackson who already had 1009. 1085 then sat in a crate with a complete set of parts for 40 years!
The article says Ronnie Spain has verified the car having known the existence of the chassis for many years.
Blimey!
