You won't believe this one!
I have just been asked if I will allow one of the UK CAV's to be used as the backdrop to a porn film.
Do you think this will diminish the perceived value of my cars or add to it?

After a fast run the rear clip might make the movie even more hot!
Many years ago there was a divorce case in Johannesburg. The husband claimed that amongst other places his wife and the lover 'had a friendly discussion' in a red Alfa-Romeo Duetto.
This is absolutely true. In the final court hearing the marketing director of Alfa-Romeo South Africa was asked to testify. He said that his company built cars for 'sporting purposes' but said that even he didn't know that it was meant to go that far!

Hi Rick,
Some further thoughts.....
You could either give 'the opposition' some stiff competition or shaft them. Alternatively 'the opposition' could find themselves in a compromising position.
Then of course the GT40, with all the curves in the right places, could be even more sexy than the stars themselves.

These people that deal in porn have a lot of influence and money. The industry sure would get a shot in the arm. Sex sells and any sexy advertisement would surely increase sales. Remember Sony tapes. I'm sorry but this is simply not true, if you are refering to Beta, its downfall (even though a superior product to VHS) was that it could only be formatted to 1 hour and VHS could handle two, since the average movie is 90 to 120 min. you have an obvious choice. Frankly dont we have better things to discuss than the "Babes In Toyland" and "Porn Stars" threads. | |

One of my other cars is a replica Porsche 550 Spyder. We had amongst us a "Porn Actor" (not sure if he was a star). His 550 was in a few movies apparently. I don't think it affected sales of the car much at all. Last we heard he was in Russia - diddling there. | |

Watching the Barrett Jackson auctions over the years,
it seems that prior ownership by someone famous or
appearing in a movie/commercial/TV show/etc seldom
adds a significant premium. Of course there are exceptions,
but usually the car sells or doesn't on it's own merits.
But if someone famous sits in my car, I'm asking for more!
