Rep Power: 24 | Shelby day, Haynes motor museum. UK FANTASTIC DAY!!!!!!
3 Genuine cobra coupes (only 6 built)
Genuine 427SC
Genuine GT40
Genuine GT350 Shelby Mustang
Lots of genuine Cobras, 289s etc
Bob Bondurant (driving the coupe like a loony)
Jack Sears (again, driving like he used to)
Where were you all ????
Incidentally, the Superformance Daytona coupe "recreation" passed me on the M3 on the way home, just before he got stopped by uncle bill for (I presume) not having a rear numberplate. |

The Daytonas are going to race at the Goodwood Revival. You say 3 of them came to Hayes? was one red? Cause only two original are going to race according to Goodwood. If one was red it must be the Willimet Daytona " replica" that Jack Sears raced in the 60's. What was the GT40?
Hope you had a good day; sorry I missed it.

UK Augie Pabst, the Mecom Lola GT driver from 1963/1964 (as well as a campaigner of many others - Scarab, Grand Sport etc) tells me that he is racing a Daytona Coupe at Goodwood this weekend. Augie won't be holding back ...

I would like to meet you and say hallo

Rep Power: 12 | Re: Shelby day, Haynes motor museum. UK Hi Allan
I will be at Goodwood tomorrow (Friday) afternoon only (thanks to Graham's last minute bargain tickets). I've never met Bob Bondurant although he helped me out with a (Datsun Roadster!?) website I built a couple of years ago. I will PM you with my mobile number etc. If you're not around tomorrow then no doubt we will meet up some time soon.
Cheers.

Rob, for the first time I am going on the Sunday to see the actual race. I figure the cost of being a GRRC member and the ticket price will rise next year. This will be my last chance. Hope you have a good time on Friday. Maybe we can meet later in the year?

Also VERY disappointed to find out that just after we left the Haynes museum, Carrol Shelby himself turned up...D*mn |
