Re: A goldmine or just rubbish?

I'm sure there is some good stuff there, but most of it looks like very expensive scrap metal.I couldn't imagine trying to move all that and then sort everything you bought .It would take years working fulltime.I noticed no bids.

Re: A goldmine or just rubbish?

This was listed about a year ago with the same results which would lead me to believe it's expensive scrap. I would also bet that the land it's sitting on has one hell of an environmental cleanup bill associated with it.

Re: A goldmine or just rubbish?

Is this the same mother-lode of parts that was featured in Hot Rod magazinein August? Either way, it looks like a goldmine to me, as there is some valuable stuff, IMO.

Re: A goldmine or just rubbish?

Undoubtedly there is some amount of rare and desirable parts in there. However, a) $1,500,000 is a lot of money, particularly for a load of obviously well used/tired parts and old cars, and b) organizing and moving the stuff will be a very difficult task.

I wouldn't think this stuff would go for more than a couple hundred thousand dollars as a single sale. If the stuff came with an operating/functioning business with some goodwill/reputation and a decent facility then $1M+ might be acceptable to some buyer. As-is however I doubt the seller will get anywhere near the starting bid.
