Daytona 200 for Motorcycles (includes results)

I've spent most of my 'career' as a club racer, starting at too late an age to have made a run as a full time 'Pro' on the National circuit. Yesterday one of my rivals for the AFM title (at 53 years the oldest MC RR organization in the country) in the late 90's won the Daytona 200 !!!!!.

Steve Rapp AFM #1 in 1997 won the Daytona 200 in 2007 !!!!!
I cannot tell you how happy I am for Steve, just incredible he as tried so long, so hard, its nice to see something big victory come of it. Steve is sort of an Mansell story, dragged himself around the country on little money and (sometimes little food!) to get noticed by the factory teams. I spent alot of laps racing Steve in the AFM, we shared the same sponsor at times - I can't help but feel more than a little bit proud.

Privateer AFMers - 17 year old Bobby Fong and a former AFM #1 Jeff Tigert in the top 15.

Irishman (or is he English?)..... local suspension Guru (and now TV star who will soon to get grief from me!) Dave Moss was the gas man for one of those "Furrin" privateer teams - Irish Celtic Racing. Celtic did great running up front for the first stint of the race. If you havent seen it features a GREAT opening 20 laps.

Sorry not car related but I had to share :-)
Still feeling the good for our guys a day later!
Rob

Congratulations to Steve Rapp. It's one thing to be good at it but it's a quantum stride to be a winner. Very well done, and I think I speak for all the bikers on the gt40 forum.
