How tall are you?

The GT40 tends to be quite restricitve for the taller driver. On the news this morning, "A University in Utah" has now revealed that smaller men have greater appeal to women. (That's small in terms of height before you all launch in !!).
What a load of bollocks !!!rockonsmile

Who is the shortest person on this forum ?and conversely who is the tallest? What folklore do you know about height, size of hands, and so on?
Me - 6' (183cm)at 20 yrs old but trying to get shorter and so now 5'10 1/2" (179cm)at 60 yrs old. (a couple of accidents caused it really !)

I make that exactly 6'1" Dave and if you are now 5'10" (you were unfortunately standing on a Barolo cork hence the extra 1/2"), that would make you the Incredible Shrinking Man having shrunk fully 3" in, what, 10 years?

If you continue to shrink at this rate, I predict that you will be driving a 1/24th scale GT40 by time you get to 50 and that Paulo will sell it to you very cheaply.

6'3".... and I will need a Gurney bubble... I've sat in a replica chassis and there is about 1/2" headroom, although the seat will be upholstered so I can sit a little lower than normal. Legroom is not a problem.

It also depends on your overall body dimensions, seat to head height (when sitting), back to knee joint etc....

I always thought I was to tall to fit a Martin Baker ejection seat but it turned out I was ok... if you have long thighs you can get your lower legs ripped off if you need to bang out. Im happy to report that I have the same number of landings as takoffs ;-)

Doc, isn't it true that every time you bang out you get a little shorter?

Perhaps this is a better answer than modifying a chassis.....

163 cm does that make me the shortest on the forum !! no problem fitting in the GT 40 only problem was reaching the pedals........in fact my legs are so short they bearly reach the ground, and I need turn-ups on my underpants.....
My wife did mention something about small jockey's Big Whips?
I don't quite know what she means............

Keith,
I'm lost...

(My eldest daughter Sarah flew the bulldogs in the UAS and was accepted by the RAF for Pilot Training but on her medical she was measured as too long in the leg and therefore non fast jet. She declined joining after University - fast jet or nothing ! She's a legal lout in London now)

I'm 5'8" at 165 and like being this size for race cars. I pretty much fit into anything. I used to not like being "short" but with racing I find it is a great assest, and, with my weight being much lower than most of my buddies and competitors I don't have trouble making weight in the car.

I need to lose a few pounds but all in all I'm pretty happy right where I am.

Okay, I think I get the award for the smallest (height that is you guys):D .
I'm 5' 4" 110 LBS. The wife is 5' 2". Girls definitely like tall guys. I should know.:grinf:
