Rep Power: 30 | Modelling info - Miura svj I've just finished to talk with one of my customer.
he just has bought one of the 6 lamborghini Miura SVJ (from sweden-car painted now in gunmetal) and asks me if can be possible to have the model in a giant scale (1/12 or bigger).
My question is...do u maybe know if somebody made in the past models of the Miura (do not dare to ask for a Jota) in a such big scale?(maybe old RC cars. ...dunno).
I am searching for something acceptable to start a deep modify to obtain his car (already try suggest him the 1/18 Kyosho Jota..but is small..)
In the past I've made a similar work for a fool with a 155 GTA,and after a big research i was able to do the model starting from a Tamiya vacuform body.
But without a lookalike body and wheels/tyres I cant do much more..
Thank u for help
Paolo

and Lamborghini Miura SVR "Jota" by Kyosho (sorry, didn't read you had seen the Kyosho)
There was a 1/16 or so Japanese plastic kit many years ago but as I recall the quality and dimensions were suspect. Could be converted to the Jota" specs.

Rep Power: 30 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj eh..
My problem is that we have to do that for real in 1/12 (or 1/10 scale..or even bigger).
Already asked this afternoon some masterman I know.
An "industrial" cad/cam prototype will come too expensive (they told me, for ONE piece price can be around 10.000 euros, and the final product is usually for mass production series), I also have artigians really better than machines ...but also here the price is quite expensive.
Such master will be easy around 8.000 euros...so no idea for the final price for the finished the car.
The work is not too far away from scratchbuilding ships or planes in big scales; the problem in such modelling is when u do that nice u will never sell.
For small scales as 1/43, I usually work with plastic, white milliput and balsa, and the final look is nearly always perfect, before the cast it in resin for the final (limited run)production.
I'll try ask now to some very good guys I know in France, but before I wanted be sure nothing as radio controlled cars from polistil was done in the 70s about Jota (svj is a factory replica of the unique crashedJota).
Btw, IMHO was an ugly car...

There's a Fujimi 1/16 scale on Ebay right now for $150, as well as another Fujimi 1/16 in 'Ebay shops' for around $100. There's also a 1/16 Otaki P400 on Ebay - this is a rare kit.
Best of luck - it sounds like an interesting car.
I once looked at a (full-size) replica Miura by a company called Prova - great looking car but it just had a Renault 30 engine (as well as the old faithful Renault 21 Turbo gearbox).

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj The Otaki is the one I was thinking of. A local shop had one for years but it looked a little "off" as to shape.
You could always buy a Conti original and redo it! Shouldn't cost too much less then the 1/1 version!

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj The best is that this year you come down for the Lambo Anniversary.
There is always the Miura SV Jota of Hiromitsu Ito. Take pics and reproduce it. Ito has the largest collection of Lambos, including the one made in glass which is part of his bed room.
Be carefull....only 6 are originals. Not more.

Yes this one I should make is one of the original 6 SVJ, bought in sweden and today in dark silver color.
The owner is the same guy owning the last EB 110 SS done by Bugatti (probably u know him. This SS was bought from Artioli in person).
He lives near Bergamo, and has several ferrari and almost all Lambo (real lambos..not audi ones),including a stunning Miura SV and this new entry SVJ
I dont think anyway I will go on with it, is a too hard work and the guy asks for stellar quality.
Nobody wants to do such work for him at today, and in this moment I prefer finish my F-4E phantom from Vietnam War(the Miura is nice, but the Phantom is better ...eheh)
Ciao

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj Piano piano,
the car of Romano Artioli, with the chassis N. 025 which is a GT, wend to Greece and the actual owner is George Lymberakis of Trident Cars.
Please write the initial letters of this guy and I will tell you if the story is true. I have all the Bugatti records.
Around Bergamo I know Franco M. but I do not think he has the power to buy an original SVJ Miura.
Anyway, if he is now so healthy, I am happy for him.
There are few replicas around.

My guy is named Luciano C. and I've personally seen his silver eb 110 SS.
Tomorrow from the shop will post here the picture of his car with the road plate (CF.. code if I am not wrong).
That is the car used on EVO magazine to make the comparison with the red Hedonism.
The silver SVJ was bought in Sweden, I still havent seen it. ( but I will soon)
best
P.s. here enclosed are pictures of his other red miura and the lp400

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj One of the best things about an early P400 is the passenger's "OH-My-God" handle on the console!!!
Have an old aquiantance (polite term for someone I know whose sister I seriously wanted to ride) who has aquired an SV in the period correct orange (only Miuras look good in orange or that lime color, anything else is seriously tacky...) and 40 years on it still looks damn good!!! I wish I aged so well!!!!
Oh, well.............

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Modelling info - Miura svj The Bugatti is a propper SS, and it is not the car of Brembo. Probably he got it by De Cilia and the car was owned by Bader Al Jaziri or from Holland and in this case the car wasn't assembled during Bugatti operations, but it has been built by Gianni 2 years after the bakrupt. The Miura shown on the pics is not an SV Jota.
Could be a P 400 or an S or an SV, but not Jota. It misses too many aerodynamics components.
Tell your friend that he knows where to service his EB 110 SS now.
Ciao
Wanni.
PLS have a look to this brand new Bugatti which is for sale. Check attachments.
