Here in the Portland, Oregon/USA area, a local newpaper printed some information and photos about a local Ford Dealership. Turns out a customer bought a new car, and had trouble getting it properly repaired.....and then the warranty expired......and then the owner decided to take matters into his own hands. He glued lemons all over the car (I mean really, ALL OVER), and parked it across the street from the dealership with a little sign telling
why this car had lemons glued on it. Not sure if someone called the newpaper or not, but the story and photos of the car appeared in the paper.
You guessed it, did not take too long, and the dealership realized that bad press has a way of reducing sales volume. Kind of falls into that area of free speech.
I personally do not recommend this type of communication to get your point across, but in this case..............it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
