Re: Holy Crap!

My brother-in-law turned me on to this conversion. It sure sounds
like one helluva ride.

Re: Holy Crap!

I can see where a V8 Corvair would start a spark in your heart to tinker to the hilt. The link provided above has quite alot of information about the conversion.

From a horsepower to weight standpoint, these cars should be pretty fast. And talk about a sleeper! Who would ever expect muscle car performance from a Corvair?

Would be interesting to see if any forum members know of any of these cars around that could post some stats and performance information as a reference point of their potential?

Thanks for the link!

Re: Holy Crap!

Hey Guy's,

Yeah its pretty cool alright.

Any mid engine car with a MKIV Rat gets my vote!

You can still pick up clean Corvairs on the cheap.

It would have been really slick if he had done a "Spyder", with those Mc Laren Can-Am style stacks right behind your head.

I can't wait till he posts pictures or video of it on the road.

I spoke to him a year or so ago, he sells that kit in the picture.

I think it was like 13k or 15k with the axle setup.

Cheers,
Scott

In my experience this is VERY rare... They are either Rust-Buckets or Oil-soaked wrecks - or - a combination of the two...
