Re: Porsche 917 on the road

Duuude, how hard would it be to drive that thing at the speed limit?! I mean COME ON!! I have a hard time staying within legal limits in my friggin Crown Victoria cop car (mainly cuz I get away with it). Driving that car on the street I'd be waaaaaaay too tempted to put the pedal to the tube frame and open it all the way up. Great video though!!

Laters,

Brian

My thoughts exactly. The dude was drunk or there's something seriuosly wrong with the steering. Maybe it was best that he wasn't going fast.

Re: Porsche 917 on the road

I don't think he/She? was drunk and the car was fairly steady so the steering was o.k. I think it was a case of what I call white line syndrome, some people have to stick to the white line instead of in the middle of their lane. Of course the white line can also be the sort some sniff,

Re: Porsche 917 on the road

There were a handful of 917s and 962s that were road registered in Europe, not including Jochen Dauer's 962s, which were original chassis, completely rebuilt for road use.

Just a bit of overkill for a daily driver!
